Brantford Beats & Eats Food Vendor Application

The City of Brantford is looking for food vendors to participate in the Brantford Beats and Eats event happening on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Brantford. Food vendors will be stationed on Colborne St. W., between Queen St. and Bain St., or at Mohawk Park. This will be an outdoor event hosted by the City of Brantford. Applicable fees will be invoiced after you have received notice that your application has been approved.

The deadline to submit an application is Friday, June 13, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. with payment required no later than Friday, June 27, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. Please note your spot is not confirmed until payment has been received.

Vendor set up time will be on Saturday, August 2, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. If you require an alternate set up time it must be approved by City staff.

About Brantford Beats & Eats

The first Annual Brantford Beats & Eats is a summer celebration of all our favourite things – music, food, and culture. Join us in Harmony Square (89 Dalhousie Street), along Colborne Street E. between Queen Street and Bain Street, and at Mohawk Park for a day of delicious food, live music, art, a vendor market, and free entertainment. The event will culminate on Saturday evening with a ticketed performance from JUNO Award winners and 9-time Canadian Country Music Award winners, The Washboard Union, inside the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts.

Certificate of Insurance

Selected vendors will be required to submit a Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $2 million general liability listing the Corporation of the City of Brantford (58 Dalhousie Street. PO Box 818, Brantford, ON N3T 2J2) as additional insured and noting that it is "For the activities held in downtown Brantford on Saturday, August 2, 2025 for the Brantford Beats and Eats event”. Selected vendors will be required to submit this Certificate of Insurance to the City of Brantford by June 27, 2025 

Please note that the information collected from this submission is collected under the authority of Section 10 (1) of Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, and will only be used for the purposes of contacting potential food vendors for the Brantford Beats and Eats event. Provide a list of menu items that you will be selling at the event. All menu items must be pre-approved. City staff does their best to ensure each food vendor is placed in the best location possible, and that there are a variety of food and beverage options available at each event.

Food vendors are required to bring their own generator with them to the event. Do you have a generator you can bring with you to the event?
 

By submitting this application, you are confirming that you understand and agree to the following terms:

  • Food vendors are responsible for completing and emailing the mandatory Brant County Health Unit Form to tourism@brantford.ca.
  • Food vendors are responsible for completing and emailing the mandatory Business License Application to businesslicensing@brantford.ca. This form will be emailed once the application has been processed.
  • The City of Brantford has the right to refuse a vendor if they are deemed to be inappropriate or unsafe.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable.
  • Vendors have no exclusivity, but limits to the number of food truck types will apply.
  • If specific products are sold in the downtown core already, a vendor selling the same products will not have their application approved.
  • Vendors are only permitted to sell the menu items specified in this application that have been pre-approved.
  • Vendors may only conduct business within their allocated space.
  • Vendor areas must be kept neat.
  • Secure your tent with weights to prevent damage in high winds.
  • The City of Brantford is not liable for any lost or stolen items.
  • Vendors must wear clean clothing, and operate with proper hygiene practices, and appropriate customer service principles.
  • All vending equipment, garbage container(s) and debris from the site must be removed by the vendor prior to leaving the event. Failure to do so will result in extra charges.
  • Vendors must bring proper storage for food items. Hot foods must be kept hot, and cold foods must be kept cold. The Brant County Health Unit may be inspecting each food vendor on the day.
  • Vendors are required to have their own means to dispose of cooking oils, grease and wastewater. A disposal charge of $50.00 will be applied to any vendor who fails to remove these items from the event properly.
  • Vendors need to provide their own source of water.
  • Vendors must comply with the provisions of all Canadian and Province of Ontario laws, City By-laws and other applicable regulations, and the requirements of the Chief Building Official, Fire Department and Medical Officer of Health.
