Canada Day Food Vendor Application

The City of Brantford is looking for food vendors to participate at Brantford’s Canada Day event on July 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Steve Brown Sports Complex/Lions Park. The event is an outdoor family friendly event hosted by the City of Brantford. Annually, we have approximately 20,000 people come to the event to listen to live music, shop, eat, explore and have fun. Applicable fees will be invoiced after you have received notice that your application has been approved.

Deadline to submit application is May 20 with payment required no later than June 16. Please note your spot is not confirmed until payment has been received.

Vendor set up time is on June 30 between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. OR July 1 between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. If you require an alternate set up time it must be approved by the Special Events Supervisor.

Please note that the information collected from this submission is collected under the authority of Section 10 (1) of Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, and will only be used for the purposes of contacting potential food vendors for the Canada Day event. Each 15’ x 15’ space contains one 15A circuit only. Extra electrical hook-ups are an additional $50.00 per circuit. Any extra power needed will be charged PRIOR to setup, and must be confirmed in advance. Extra charges will apply for any modifications to City owned electrical.

A Certificate of Insurance is required in the amount of $2 million general liability listing the Corporation of the City of Brantford (58 Dalhousie Street. PO Box 818, Brantford, ON  N3T 2J2) as additional insured and noting that it is "For the activities held at 2 Edge Street, Lions Park/Steve Brown Sports Complex on July 1, 2024”

By submitting this application, you are confirming that you understand and agree to the following terms:

  • You are responsible for completing and emailing the mandatory  Brant County Health Unit Form to canadaday@brantford.ca (link will be provided on this webpage immediately after closing submitting this application).
  • You are responsible for completing and emailing the mandatory Business License Application to businesslicensing@brantford.ca (The form will be emailed to you once your application has been processed ).
  • You cannot sell 500ml bottle of water for more than $1.00.
  • The Canada Day planning committee has the right to refuse a vendor if they are deemed to be inappropriate or unsafe.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable.
  • Vendors have no exclusivity but limits to the number of food truck types apply.
  • You may only sell and offer the products and/or services specified in your application and that are approved.
  • Vendors may conduct business only within the space allocated.
  • Vendor areas must be kept neat, and vendors must wear clean clothing and operate with proper hygiene practices and appropriate customer service principles.
  • All vending equipment, garbage container(s) and debris from the site must be removed by the vendor after the event. Failure to do so will result in extra charges.
  • Vendors must comply with the provisions of all Canadian and Province of Ontario laws, City by-laws and other applicable regulations and the requirements of the Chief Building Official, Fire Department and Medical Officer of Health.
  • Vendors must bring a minimum 100 foot, 12 gauge extension cord. Generators are NOT provided at each vendor booth. Please be prepared to have a cord that reaches.
  • Vendors need to provide their own hose and hose connector for water hook-up. Portable water is provided, but must be shared among each vendor. Please bring a 'Y' connector with a shut-off.
  • Vendors must bring proper storage for food items. Hot foods must be kept hot and cold foods must be kept cold. Brant County Health Unit will be inspecting in the morning of July 1.
  • Vendors are required to have their own means to dispose of cooking oils, grease and waste water. A disposal charge of $50.00 will be applied to any vendor who fails to remove these items from the park properly.
  • Your area is your responsibility, please take care of it!
