Learn from city staff about landfill and compost operations, environmental controls, and waste diversion practices. During this free one-hour driving tour, city staff will highlight different operations at the Mohawk Street Landfill, including the scalehouse, residential drop-off area, transfer station, and active tipping face. The tour also includes the compost site and landfill gas utilization facility.
Participants must remain on the bus for the duration of the tour for safety reasons. Transportation must be supplied by the participants.
Tours are suitable for ages 6 and up and can be scheduled Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
