New Dog Licence Application

All dog owners in the City of Brantford are required to license their dog(s) each year as per Chapter 206 of the City’s Municipal Code.

If your dog has been designated as Potentially Dangerous or Dangerous by a City of Brantford Municipal Law Enforcement Officer, you must attend City Hall to obtain a licence.

Proof of alteration: Section 206.6.4.1 of the City of Brantford Municipal Code states “all existing dogs in the City’s Dog Licensing database identified as altered will be issued an annual licence upon payment of the applicable fee’.

Puppy rate: a new dog 6 months of age or under will be charged the altered rate in the initial licensing year. Proof of alteration is required from a licensed Ontario veterinarian for renewals. (Compliance with Section 206.6.4.1 licence fee – altered dog, is required)

Personal information, as defined in the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), is collected and authorized under Section 10(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001, and will be used to process your Dog Licence application and contact you with any pertinent information related to your request.
