Guidelines and Booking Restrictions

  1. A request must be submitted a minimum 14 days before the requested date using the online request form below.
  2. The Brantford Fire Department will only be able to host a visit as operational needs allow. This may limit the duration of your visit or cause it to be cancelled entirely.
  3. The Brantford Fire Department crews are on duty and may have to leave to respond to an emergency during your event and may not return.
  4. Scheduled station visits for educational purposes are available at each of our stations.
  5. Scheduled station visits may be requested for one hour duration during the following times:
    • Wednesday mornings: between 10:30 am to 11:30 pm
    • Wednesday afternoons: between 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm
    • Wednesday evenings: between 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
  6. Scheduled station visits are available for the following groups:
    • Elementary and secondary school classes
    • Pre-school centers
    • Home schooled children groups
    • Life learning organizations (guides, scouts, cadets, etc)
    • Community groups
  7. Scheduled station visits are not available for the following:
    • Birthday parties
    • Personal/individual/family tours
  8. Please be aware of the following guidelines for station visits:
    • All fire vehicles and stations remain on an “on-call” status.
    • If an emergency is reported during the visit, it may be ended early to respond.
    • Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your scheduled visit.
    • If the crew is not at the station when you arrive, please call our Brantford Fire Department communications at 519-752-0540 for assistance.
    • Should a cancellation or an emergency occur during your scheduled time with us, we will do our best to reschedule if necessary.
    • Transportation must remain available as tours may be interrupted or cancelled on short notice.
    • Visits are usually an average of 45-60 minutes in length.
      Maximum number of participants is 25-30 adults/children.
    • Appropriate adult/child supervision ratio shall be maintained by the organization throughout the visit to ensure adequate safety and control.
    • Visitors will not be permitted to handle equipment or mount any fire apparatus unless approved and supervised by fire personnel.
    • Station visits are not recommended for baby & toddler ages.
    • Proper clothing and footwear is recommended.
    • No food allowed on site.
    • Organization will be responsible for their own liability if anyone is injured during their visit.
    • Visitors must agree to enter the station at their own risk.
    • The City of Brantford will not be held liable.
